Filling up your resume isn't a really good idea. The resume is what gives employers their first impression of you. If you've 'filled it up' with 'stuff', their impression is that you are an air head. Instead, winnow your resume, and list the things that are really important, and go into some detail about them. Then, at the end, you can also say, "I have also been involved in ---" and simply list some of the lesser activities.
What you want your resume to do is show that firstly, you are qualified for the job, and secondly, that you are a well rounded character who is likely to fit in well, and thirdly, that you are adaptable, have ventured outside the specific job path, and thus could be considered for management or other types of promotion.

I type resumes for a living. I'll do yours for $40.00. Good deal. Start out with a nice letterhead with your name, address, and phone number. Write an objective. List your skills as bullets such as great communication skills, well organized, etc. If you list things it will fill up the page faster instead of putting it in a paragraph form. List your work experience (dates worked, company, your title, and list your responsibilities at each position also in bullets). Then put your education and any skills classes or specialty training you've received. You can put spaces between each entry so it helps fill up the page too. Good luck!

For a filler, you can add an area at the end of your resume called: Associations or Organizations and list trade associations you belong to. If you don't belong to any IT organizations, then join a few. Search online and see what you can find. It will cost money, but it will give you an added bonus to your resume.

I am a Paralegal and joined a few organizations such as American Bar Association, my state bar association and my state paralegal association and list these on my resume.

Hope this helps

You don't have to "fill" your resume with anything. You just have to write the things that interest the boss (your experience, your education and a few characteristics). That would take less time and would have more chances of success.

You want to make sure that everything on your resume is relevant to the job you are applying for. However, that does not necessarily mean formal work experience. Add relevant skills, volunteer work, projects, etc. Be very descriptive on projects that will be similiar to this new organization. And dont forget certifications!

Hope this helps!
