i mean i know it would be ridiculous to let france take their last penalty after italy had already won, but it does seem a little unfair, doesn't it?

I agree with you. On the one hand, it would be ridiculous to let France take their last penalty after Italy has won but on the other, losing 5-4 is better than losing 5-3 right? Unfortunately, however, according to the rules of the penalty shoot out "...if one side has scored more goals than the other could possibly reach with all of their remaining kicks, the shootout ends regardless of the number of kicks remaining. " Sucks, huh?

Well, they definetly hould have had them take it but even if they did and made it it wouldn't matter. Because of this I guess the end score was 5-3 in penalties but with regular goals the final score was 6-4. But yes it is kinda unfair but it's the way the game is played.

look first you get 5 chances if the two teams are tigh then each team keep on shooting on the goal once if he misses the other team wins....
5-3 because france didnt shoot the 5th kick bcoz anyway if france scored it itlay would have won it made no difference bcoz france missed one and italy didnt....so thats why the penalty kick ended 5-3

I believe 5-3 was the score on PK.

it wouldnt have made a difference because france would have lost either way. a loss is a loss...the score itself is meaningless at that point.

i mean, the last french player could have taken the shot just to have the self-satisfaction that he made it....but at that point i dont think he would have even cared because italy was already celebrating.

no, because italy could miss and france score and tie it up. then it'll go to sudden death penalties. which is if u miss and the other score u lose.

no, theyre gonna lose so why even bother. just take the one less penalty kick, its not like it would make them seem any better. plus, if they already lost everyone would be going crazy and it might be too distracting for the player or he wouldnt even care so he wouldnt try.

Well, it´s a draw beforehand who is gonna start. So when you second and lose paralelly, you are actually 2 goals behind. Sucks, yeah. But who would watch the last goal?
