This very question is what tortured Einstein until his ultimate death.

It's a never ending battle because both modes of cleaning stir up dirt, so why bother trying either.

Before, of couse, as some dust always will fall to the ground. Better wait some time before vacuuming, until the dust has settled.

But, of course, this makes sense with a modern vacuum cleaner only - an old model would distribute a lot of dust while in use.

Cleaning is most efficiently done top down. Every once in a while, use the attachments to vacuum the top of the walls.

More often, dust, then vacuum. If your vac is making dust, get a better vac.

Depends on whether or not you have a quality vacuum cleaner. If you have a sub par vacuum that release dirt back into the air while you vacuum I definitely say dust after wards. That way you collect the released dust and dirt.

I was always told to dust AFTER. Vacuuming stirs up dust which would defeat the purpose of dusting.

dust before vacuum because once you already dusted all the dirt will be on the floor so now it will get clean but once you vacuum first then dust all the dirt will lay where you already cleaned and have to redo it again.
