Grand Rapids, MI! It's a good-sized city with lots of fun things to do, good schools, low crime, very clean and beautiful, and lots of neighborly people who take pride in their community and each other. Nice place!

Come to Stanton Nebraska, population 1,500, and step back in time 60 years. Very little traffic, even the occasional horse and buggy, friendly people, everyone knows your name and every one cares about you and will help you out when you're in a spot. Saturday evenings will find you down at the ball park cheering on the baseball team or barbequing with a couple of your many friends in your enourmous back yard - don't have one where you live? You can buy a great home for less than $70,000 around here. Most of the teachers at the schools know you because they taught your parents. You can meet Curt Nielsen, one of the few independent violin makers left in our great nation who still makes these beautiful instruments completely by hand. You can find the best sweet corn and pumpkins in the world being sold out of the back of a farm truck, fresh from the field. The air is as fresh and clean as air comes, not even a trace of pollution or smog. Best part of all, even with all of the town lights on at night (which in a small town like this, there aren't many), you are able to see every star that God placed in the sky and if it's the right time of year, the beautuful Northern Lights dancing atop the hills. Go back to the simple life, to the way things used to be and to what you can only dream of elsewhere. Kick back, relax and enjoy, you'll be glad you did!

You haven't been to the San Francisco Bay Area if you think there's any better place to live. Great year around weather, (no snow or freezing cold) yet you can go to the mountains to ski, or the beaches in the same day! The hills and the air are clean and the culture is deep and accessible. And if its food or nightlife you want you can't beat SF! Plus, its THE place of high-tech, with excellent colleges and fantastic diversity. The only downside is the price for housing, but that's because its so great to be here, people have and always will pay the premium.

For my one year, I'd go and live in New York City. But a year would be plenty. Afterwards, I'd come back to Kansas City, because there's no place else I'd rather call home. The beauty of KC is that it has a lot of the attractions of much larger cities--professional sports, great restaurants, theatre, the arts, etc.--but it doesn't have big-city traffic and air pollution, and the pace is a lot more relaxed here. Plus, many parts of town are really aesthetically beautiful, which seems to surprise a lot of outsiders who think the place will be flat and treeless. I moved back from Dallas a little over 2 years ago, and I'm not planning to leave again.

Fairport, New York because there's not too much traffic it's healthy you actually have winter time there's almost no crime but there is in Rochester but hey this is Fairport I'm talking about. There's not that many death's and when there is it's almost never related to crime. It's a quiet town. The schools are the second best in the united states. The income is around a low around 30$thousand a median around 50$thousand and a high around 70 maybe even 80$thousand dollars. The city has annual parades. Lots and lots of parks to go to and they are very big. A police station in the middle of the small town so for police to respond it wouldn't take long or ambulance and fire fighters. The city is not hot in summer it's high around 81 maybe 78 degrees and it's low in winter can be as low as 56 or 60 degrees it's hig in winter is around 38 degrees and low around 1 to 2 degrees.

If I could live anywhere in the USA I would choose the Quad Cities Area. This area includes Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa and Rock Island and Moline in Illinois. My reason for choosing the Quad Cities is because all four (4) cities are friendly, reletively crime free, and contains everything a person could need, entertainment, sports, restaurants, grocery stores, and excellent schools (junior and senior high, elementary, and college). I would encourage people to please visit the Quad Cities. Visitors will fly into Quad Cities International Airport in Moline, Illinois. There is plenty of fun things to do here.

San Francisco because it's freaking beautiful. Sure it's expensive, but that's because everyone wants to live here. Surrounded by the Pacific and the Bay. Gorgeous views from just about anywhere. It's tolerant of all lifestyles, beliefs, persuasions. Encourages activism, futuristic endeavors .... and is always thinking of how to have a good time with everyone. Right now it's 74 degrees and sunny while the rest of the country is sweltering in the 90's with both humidity and temperature... and no mosquitoes to contend with either! nuff said.

I've often thought of this question. No matter how far I travel or move out of Southern California all my life, I've never been able to find a place that had the right combination of nature, things to do, and exciting events and people. Location is key, and its everything.. to be near the ocean, snow, mountains, hiking trails, but also the exciting happening action oriented city life, is what is ideal, to also be where there are more people and more chances for love and chemistry, is to be in the most populated state, California. I think Pasadena is a great city, close enough to "action" l.a. and Hollywood, Santa Monica, Palm Springs, the hiking trails 5 min. away, and yet have a cute old town, and more people coming in, it seems to be the city of the future. In Southern Ca everythings 30-40 min. away by car no matter where you are. The people are friendly, although in L.A. and Hollywood you have too many tourists, so not always natives. As long as Ive lived, Ive never found a place I'd rather live, than good old CALIFORNIA, and I've traveled. What is a shame is to never leave your town and not know whats out there. I've even lived in Ensenada Mexico for 2 months, nice, refreshing, similar to CA in energy, but it isn't California. I'd say come on over, but we have enough people. lol.. I guess they figured that out too! To be amid trees and nature and not have all the fun things to do in the city with attractive people IS NOT ENOUGH. Thats like being with a beautiful woman or man who has no personality. Southern Ca and Pasadena in particular has it all.

Santa Monica is an old, endearing favorite of mine. People who can't afford to live there just.. can't afford to live there. If anyone really wanted to try hard enough to live there, they could. Its just a matter of how hard you're willing to try. Either way, I go there for the ocean and pier, and thats enough for me. Love it!

i already live in nyc, so anyone who wants to come here can trade places with me!

2 places in mind: calais, maine, and point roberts, washington. both because they are border towns. it's kinda neat to look over into another country.

point roberts is entirely cut off from the rest of the usa, and by land you have to travel into canada to go anywhere. there are markers and fences that tell you where the border is. all that and the pacific northwest weather.

calais, maine, is across the river from st. stephen, new brunswick. the 2 towns have a joint celebration of canada day and the 4th of july, with a parade that crosses the border. and not only the border, but also the time zone!

and both places can occasionally get HOT, but it always cools down nicely at night. and i don't mind the snow, either. i gotta get outta this HEAT!

so, not necessarily the "best" places to live, but hopefully interesting...

If I could choose just one place anywhere in the USA for one year to live I think that I would have to choose the State of Kentucky. Why? I think that it is beautiful place to go and the weather seems to stay level. If it was up to my children they would all pick Florida. Why? They all want to go to Disney World.

I think the best place to live is St. Louis MO, I grew up there and it was a wonnderful city. There is not a million gangs and things like some people would think. We are also home to the biggest structure in the guiness book of world records 2001, The Arch. It's not a big city which is awesome and it's also not some tiny city that no ones heard of. The school systems are awesome.
