2 possibles are to rate them on the numder of hits after a day, or the amount of ink the answers use.

I don't care if questions are rated or not. Although, come to think of it, it'd be pretty cool to get an extra 10 or 15 points for a best question. And the rating system would encourage people to ask good questions.
I think the best should be decided by people giving a rating of each question. Rate 1 for an awful question, 10 for an awesome question. Rates would be tallied (and averaged) for each question. This would happen every day (or week). There would be a "best question" for each catergory.

Now THAT is a good question!!!
And not a bad idea.
I think it would have to be by categories, and maybe a best of the month...followed by a best of the year.
As to who picks 'em...maybe Yahoo could have a panel of judges? People well acquainted with the category they have to judge would be nice...
And how about picking the worst...Some questions are really way out in left field..some are absolutely gross and some are just downright dumb ..

I definitely think that the questions should be ranked. It could be another way to get a whole point for people!

Once in a while I will find a question that really provokes my deepest thinking. I always want to give the question a "gold star" :)

Yeah, questions should be rated as some people ask really good questions and other ask really stupid questions.

i like the way they are doing things just fine...but i think if you are voting and there is no best answer i think you should still get one point for thinking that way too...

i agree that way so many will see how dumb their questions really are! nice thinking! the best would be decided based on the following;
correct category.....
real questions not questions such as these ex; why? or wtf! or how many questions can i get to this answer?
