Can you or your opener open the door? If so they are working.

If it seems slower or unequal on each side as the door opens then they may need replacement.

release the garage door opener if u have one. the door would be able to close with just ur hands. if no opener, u should be able to open and close the door with little force.. u can tighten the springs, email me and i explain that to ya.

They droop and bang around.

Have you ever lubed your pulleys? That goes a long way in stemming the spring issue. I use a chain and cable lube, brush all the gunk out, and then respray.
