The car's previous owner stuck the nose under a guard rail. There's a bit of play up and down. A bra seems to hold it together pretty well though I'd like to repair it myself. How do I locate the bolts holding the nose of the car to the frame and is it an extensive job?

Drill new holes and resupport it in place. Go to your local hardware store and buy some band steel or square tubing for this job if needed.
