Today young men on acid realized that alll matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one conciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather.-Maynard. From a Tool song.
Although, I especially like (movie quotes) when Samuel L. in Pulp Fiction recites "Ezekiel, twenty-five, seventeen, The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish, and the tyrrany of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance, and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers- And you will know My name Is the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee." Bang Bang Bang!
I know this is not how ezekiel 25:17 goes. It is an amalgam of a bunch of different scripture and psalms.
I love anything that Mitch Hedberg had to say:
I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughtnut... I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I give you money and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I can't imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. To some skeptical friend, Don't even act like I didn't buy a doughnut, I've got the documentation right here... It's in my file at home. ...Under "D".

From the song "Giving It Up For You" by Holly Brook...

Take your aim like Artemis
And kill another dove
But when your heart becomes a hunter
You may wound your chance to love

I know it's not from Shakespeare or anything, but it's very meaningful. The song is about giving up yourself for someone you want to love, but really shouldn't. The song itself has tons of emotion and really makes you think. The chorus is just as good as that part...

Tell me, what do you think of me now
That I've traded all my armor for a crown
Come on, what do you do with me now
That I've taken down the mirror on the wall
And the sweet rain is ready to fall
I'm giving it up for you

It's a beautiful song that anyone can relate to, about giving in to someone's wishes and letting go of your free will, strength and individuality.

There are so many of them....
A lie told often enough becomes truth (Lenin)
Always be ready to speak you mind, and a base man will avoid you (William Blake)
Force is all - conquering, but it's victories are short
(Abraham Lincoln)

All the world is a stage
Neither a borrower or lender be
I will wear my heart upon my sleeve
To be or not to be
Beware the ides of March
He that dies pays all debts
Things won are don
Forget and Forgive (William Shakespear)
Cowards die many times

you must leave everything that you cannot control/it begins with your family but soon it comes round to your soul - Leonard Cohen

What then is truth? A mobile army of metaphors, metonyms, and anthropomorphisms -- in short, a sum of human relations, which have been enhanced, transposed, and embellished poetically and rhetorically, and which after long use seem firm, canonical, and obligatory to a people: truths are illusions about which one has forgotten that is what they are; metaphors which are worn out and without sensuous power; coins which have lost their pictures and now matter only as metal, no longer as coins.
Nietzsche

We have arranged for ourselves a world in which we can live - by positing bodies, lines, planes, causes and effects, motion and rest, form and content; without these articles of faith nobody could now endure life. But that does not prove them. Life is no argument. The conditions of life might include error.

Nietzsche

"Now I am light, now I fly, now I see myself beneath myself,
now a god dances through me."

Its from Count of Montecristo by Alexander Dumas.

For in prosperity prayers seem but a mere medley of words, until
misfortune comes and the unhappy sufferer first understands
the meaning of the sublime language in which he invokes the
pity of heaven!

"He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction." To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived......." - Bessie Stanley

My favorite is from the movie Rob Roy starring Liam Neeson. In the movie he says, "Honor is a man's gift to himself." I tend to take that quote to heart and try to live by it.

“Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun. Care for those around you. Look past your differences. Their dreams are no less than yours, their choices no more easily made. And give, give in any way you can, of whatever you posses. To give is to love. To withhold is to wither. Care less for your harvest than for how it is shared and your life will have meaning and your heart will have peace.”

This quote is great to remember whenever you're in a relationship of any kind, romantic or otherwise. People will SAY they are all sorts of things--kind, generous, compassionate, loyal, etc.--but what they DO tells you who they really are.

"When people SHOW you who they are, believe them." --Maya Angelou

"All your base are belong to us."

From the intro movie for the old video game, Zero Wing. The english version was likely badly dubbed from some more logical Japanese original.
