No, just because someone dies does not mean one should be sad.

A person's emotion depends on the relationship between the two people. You state your dad was not the nicest guy in the world, an asshole. Well there you have it, that explains why you are not sad.

I wouldn't be surprised if you feel a weight lifted and a bit of relief... and that would be normal. I'm sorry that the relationship wasn't something more, but you can learn from it and not be that way in life yourself. Give something more back.

I'm sorry your dad died and I'm sorry he was an asshole. You should just feel whatever your going to feel but try not to make it evident that you dont care cuz others might not be considerate to you rite now cuz they'll feel your being insensitive. Just make sure that you talk to someone like a friend, because even thogh you dont care if he died it sounds like you have some stuff that u should get off your chest. Also try to be ther for the ones around you since you are stronger then they might be rite now.
Take care man. Nothin but the best @--------

I was sad when my dad died. But if he was a *** hole I guess I wouldn't. He was a really great man tho. I'm sure your father was too. Sometimes parents get in your nerves but you have to understand they still love you no matter what.

Everyone will express their sense of loss in their own way. My cousins lost their mother who was a drug addict that abandoned them. One that was actually close to her mom cried and was sad. Another who hated her was angry. The other who was the oldest that was often left to take care of his younger siblings did not care much, to him it was really no different if she were alive or dead since he was the one that really looked out for his modified family.

You might feel anger, you might feel satisfaction, you might feel nothing. These people are not you and cannot tell you what to feel. They did not live your life. Experience this loss in whatever way feels right for you. Just try to be rational and calm in explaining to others why you feel the way you do.

If your father was saved, there is no reason to be sad. I lost my wife three years ago, and we rejoiced for her because she had suffered so much. But, we knew she was saved, and we both were members of the same church to which I still go. If you know your father was saved, do not be sad, but rejoice, because he is home with the Father.

Hi Jason,

You should feel, whatever you are feeling, because those are you're true feelings. Don't try to feel what others think you should.
Just because he was your dad doesn't mean you have to love him. Especially if he was a bad person.

Have A Good Day!

jesus, what do you mean? how much of an as.s hole was he? what did he do to you?, pls elaborate/explain further so that we can answer your query properly.
a friend of mine father's died, he had raped her when she was a kid and she dint feel sad, so say what he did to you. if he raped you, mistreated so badly, physical abuse, then you have a right, but about small issues you shld mourn he is your father at the end of the day.
