Part of Palestine was given to the Jewish people after WW2, that was a big mistake because the Israelis then proceeded to throw out the Palestinians, the Palestinians have never accepted this, they have been terrorized by Israel, and now they fight with the only tools they have, throwing stones, and blowing themselves up, and setting off the occasional rocket.

Recently Israel has siege Gaza, denying Palestinians electricity, destroying infrastructure, and making it a virtual prison,
As usual the Palestinians have fought against this oppression, and a group of them managed to capture an Israeli soldier.
The Israelis then proceeded to escalate their siege, and killing of Palestinians who had nothing to do with the Capture of the Israeli soldier, world leaders said nothing.
Only Hezbollah would stand up for the Palestinians, and they captured two Israeli soldiers. Then Israel decided to punish the whole of Lebanon, so now Hezbollah try to kill Israelis, and Israelis try to kill Lebanese.

The USA responce had been to blame Iran, and Syria, and it makes me wonder if this was their recent agenda all along - to create an excuse to attack another country.

I think Palestine is a nation of terrorists that will never stop in their attempts to Murder every citizen of Israel. If they were given all the land they wanted, they would still be murdering terrorists and their demands would just increase. If their population wasn't like minded, they wouldn't have elected terrorist leaders.

The conflict will be necessary so long as Palestinians exist, because if they succeed in destroying Israel, they will just turn their attentions to killing someone else, probably all the people in India (who they are already causing problems with).

It really bothers me that my tax dollars are going over their as foreign aid.

I agree with Israel and do feel it is necessary. Hezbollah is a terrorist group with a strong hold in Lebanon. If they came into America from Mexicican or Canadaian strong holds and abducted two of our troops we would have done the exact same thing with out question. Israel sent out a warning of what their actions would be after the first soldier was not returned. He was not returned in two days and they acted on their warning. I say take them out. They want to play hard ball they should be ready to pay the consequences for thier actions. What's one less terrorist group to this world any way.

I think no war is necessary, but that does not matter. I believe Israel is trying to take over a region, they were just magically placed in that region in the 1940's by God supposedly, and I understand the displacement of the Jews due to Hitler, but how does that give the Israel's the right to take over someones land. Israel has every right to attack Lebanon and Syrai. They have supported the palestinians.

And despite what the first poster said-- Israel has every right to be there. United Kingdom owned the land and decided to give it to the israelis. END OF STORY. THe palestinians (who aren't even a real race anyway) dont' have a right to be there.

Palestinian civilians do die from Israeli attacks, same as Iraqi citizens die from US attacks. Its war and these things happen. I believe many people use this stituation to express their anti-semetic and anti-israel views. It really is a shame.

Israel is a peaceful country. But don't think that they are cowardly. If someone attacks them (in this case Hamas, Syria, and Lebanon) then they will attack back. Yeah because the palestinains were attacking them. This land was all given to Israel. Its their land! And are you somehow proud that the palestinians send women and children in with suicide vest to blow themselves up? Did you even realize that the palestinians could democratically elect someone who will peacefully seperate from israel? Or may be the palestinians could live along Israelis peacefully. Thats like saying that USA shouldn't have blamed the Japanese for pearl harbor. Iran and Syria funded the palestinians and now Syria has their soldier. This is no conspiracy this is happening. Iran and Syria are dangerous countries. With a very dangerous ideaology. Worse of all they don't even value their own lives. If they could wipe out all of Israel at once (nuke) and get nuked in return by the US, they wouldn't care. Now they are martyrs in "allah"'s eyes.
