Just curious but when ever I joke with a lady
"Want some candy little girl"
she'll launch into playful flirtations
but if I just say "you look nice today,
I get completely dismissed?
is there just something about the phrase that just triggers playfullness? if so what?

I have a t-shirt that reads:

I TAKE CANDY FROM STRANGERS

My wife hates it when I have it on... Women always make comments about it! (flirtatious remarks)

I've never reacted in a flirtatious way to "want some candy little girl?" I would react to "you look nice today". The Candy reaction is probably going to be someone who wants some fun, and nothing more. The latter, if a conversation is struck up would be more sincere - just my take.

No ladies I know would react with playful flirtation to that lame line, dude. Sounds like you go for the bubble-headed type in a country western singles bar.

It is actually disgusting that people laugh at this because it is the line perverts use to pick up little kids. I wouldn't laugh. I would be more likely to respond to osmeone telling me I look nice as long as you don't tell me the same thing every day. Perhaps you could try being more specific, like saying "I like those earrings" etc.

You are certainly some good "eye candy" so I'd wonder what you taste like. But I'd be just as pleased if you told me that I look nice.

I think if you said that phrase to me I will walk away and give you a dirty look or just ignore you. You must be saying that to little girls who are flirting with you thinking you will actually give them candy.
I really dont think an grown mature adult woman would welcome such a comment.

It brings an aire of naughtyness.

Try saying to her, I'm the guy your Mommy warned you about.
Also, you can call her and ask, What are you wearing?

Then evaluate the response

I don't think i would enjoy a complete stranger walking up to me and saying that. Is this something you use often?
