I was on their website and i couldnt find a place to tell you if you had to pay or not. What do they mean by "To be successfully discovered you must secure a legitimate agent. Without an agent you will not work as a model or actor. This does not require professional photos, comp cards, or classes. Your agent will help you with everything you need to market yourself and develop your career as a model or actor. ProScout is dedicated to the process of helping you find the agent that is right for you. Our agents work only at securing work for their models and actors, they do not sell classes, portfolios or unnecessary pictures. ProScout schedules up to 20 live agent review events per year, supplied by well over 300 free Open Call Interview sessions per year and it's online scouting resources."? If I understand correctly do I need an agent or will one be given to me if I get picked? If not can my mom be my agent cause she knows more about me than I know about me. Do they pick?

I would advise you to go to a search engine and enter "ProScout" and "scam." You'll see a long list of unhappy customers. They DO ask for money @ $650 range - you should never pay money to any agent or manager. It's usually a scam if they ask for it.
However, It's OK if you give them a percentage from the roles you booked.
As a younger performer, it should be easier for you to get an agent - send out headshots and resumes, attend open calls, if you can perform in showcases, do so. And make sure your mom is ready to drive you to any auditions you need to attend, because it takes a lot of time out of your schedules. I wish you the best!

I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau.

I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.

However if you would like a personal portfolio site please contact me and I will set you on up for free. I can design you a fully personalised flash website with as much or little information and then host it for you. This site can contain a gallery of your photos, personal information, list of work, contact details, etc or if you prefer just a couple of photos and nothing else. It can be password protected and all images will be protected as is humanly possible, or the photos can be available to download.

Examples of work can be provided on request. Just message me here if you want, I am a professional website designer but have lots of free time (and enough money) so I am currently doing free sites for small bands, small artist etc, basically anyone who could not afford them otherwise. I have my own hosting server so can offer hosting servers or you can host the site yourselves. No images sent to me will be used for anything other than your site and I will not give anyone your detail or link to the site. You will have complete control and the site can be removed or changed at any time. This is not a scam and I will design a site for FREE, I do not need the money, and enjoy working. If you do want it message me you can tell me what you want and how you want it done and I will help.

Depending how old you are I may require parents permission before i will do any work.

Stay away. Talent agents cannot advertise, anywhere including ONLINE! Legitimate talent agents cannot be associated with an organizaton such as Pro-Scouts, if so, they will lose their talent agency license. Don't rush to get an agent.

Your mom can be your Talent Manager. She can call talent agents and submit your resume/photo to them, if they are willing to work with her. She must let them know she is a "Manager" not an agent.

Your mom will have to learn a lot about how the show business industry works.

I had an experienced like that and yes you need an agent who will prepared you with knowledge that has to be required in order to get in into model. i remembered 5years ago when my parent wasted a lot of money on me for model class and i though that the program would help us to be successful in life but no i had to find an agent that could help me in my career and i though that my mom could be my agent but they need someone with a degree and a professional who has experience and knows what is doing, more than that an Agent is required.

I've been to a proscout thing too. First you go to the place and they either accept you to come to their next open agent thing, or not. If you don't get picked, your done with them. If you do, it's about $500 to go to the agent thing and they decide if they like you or not. That's about as much as I know, hope this helps, good luck.

in the event that they do no longer ask for money for interviews, they'll attempt to get money for some thing else. actual companies and brokers do no longer could desire to promote or carry open auditions, they have various people who come to them.
