My favourite Wilbur smith book is 'River God' its is bloody amazin, the only book i've read where I was gripped on this first page. (Its a fictional story about ancient Egypt when it was the greatest civilisation on earth, it is so awesome)
My fave non wilbur smith book is 'The ram of Sweetriver' by Colin Dann. (its a mature kids book about sheep and the hardships of living in a wild flock, lol, its really engaging. Perhaps a bit like watership down, with sheep, although haven't read watership down.)

ADD: seventh scroll is set in modern times and about finding the pharohs tomb. In my view Warlock wasn't so great.
I also loved Birds of prey and have recently bought its sequels - monsoon and blue horizon which should keep me busy!
