Because of the connotation of juvenile underwear. When grown up one usually explores the options and discovers different colors, materials, and cut that is far different and likely much more appealing to the wearer (and those seeing it). Hard to beat Lycra Bikini cut for best feel! Guess you never tried this or you wouldn't be asking the question...

I don't think that there is anything wrong with tighty whities. I think it is just fun to say tighty whities. How much fun is it to say white briefs or underwear? Now I do think men look funny in those bikkini underwear that belong on women especially the ones with just a strings for the sides. Enjoy your whities tighties (thats how I say it) we also call them hip huggers. See now that fun too:)

haha this reminds me of being in 6th grade. One of my friends pants-ed (not quite sure how to spell that)our other friend while he was wearing tighty whities....not very pretty.

Because that's the underwear that most little boys, aged 4-12, wear. So that's what we're reminded of - little kids.
