I think the Problem was that Oliver Twist and all the others there were meant to be the lowest of the low, scum, filth, pathetic retches. The people probably believed that he should barely get what he had already, and him asking for more... Like he deserved more than he already had. They thought it was an insult to be asked for more.

I really hate the people that wouldn't give him some and don't actually agree with what they think, just so u know I'm not Ike this malicious, dictator who whips three year old child slaves for fun.

Reminds me of Oliver or House of games. Oliver is obvious the little orphan asking for more food, which was unheard of. And House of Games where the psychiatrist (or psychologist) finds out her boyfriend who's a con artist has been conning her and she shoots him in the stomach, and he says,"Please sir, can I have another (some more whichever same difference lol)

Y'know, everytime I think of Oliver Twist, it reminds me, for some strange reason, of this type of pastry that had the dough shaped like a braid with cinnamon on top.... o_O
