If you got blind recently, it could emotionally affect you. That could be the cause of the sleeping disorder.
I sincerely hope you'll get better soon.

Don't resort to medication right away. Examine your diet, fill nutritional gaps, and then make sure you get your 30 minutes of excersize a day. When all these are being met and you still have insomnia, call your doctor immediately. 36 hours without sleep can have you delirious and mentally unstable. Your brain needs sleep to function. by the way, how do you read these answers? does someone read them for you? Just curious. Good Luck, sweet dreams!

I suggest herbal sleep pills or tranquilizers for what seem to be your insomnia. These are over the counter drugs, they are very mild and they make you relax which is what you seem to have a problem with. But I really think that you should see your physician and let him prescribe a short supply of very powerful synthetic sleeping pills to get over your immediate need for sleep. After you have rested for a couple of days with them you might want to try the herbal pills and change your diet and exercising habits so that you are more relaxed and won't have to resort to sleeping drugs.

Do you follow a routine? Do you relax before going to bed? I cannot sleep without having a little time to unwind before going to bed. Pick a time to stop activity for the evening, then read for an hour (there are books in braille) or listen to a book on tape, listen to music, just chill. Then go to bed. I think it is important to stick to routine, then the body and mind are psyched.

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been sleeping well. Is something
bothering you that has happened recently? Or are you having
pain at night? Maybe talk to your doctor about a sleep aid that
could help...and/or try meditating that you are in a place doing
something that is the most peaceful to you... hope you get
some REM soon!!!

You should probably see a Dr. But for a short term answer; try Tylenol PM. It's gentle, will make you sleepy, but it won't knock you out. You might just need a little help to relax and clear your mind
