There are no definate body language or facial expressions that indicate lying. Its called 'concealing behaviour' and it can also be triggered by discomfort and wishing to avoid a painful or embarassing memory.
Just develop your intuition; your subconscious brain is far better at processing all the info you get than your thinking brain. Get to know people over a period of time and gradually develop trust.
If you feel that someone is not being comletely honest with you you're probably right; but you don't know all the reasons why so don't jump to conclusions.
Looking up and to the right is the most reliable indicator that something is amiss, its not how people look when they are dredging memory.
But direct eye contact is not at all reliable. Remember that most liars know they are lying, they want to fool you and get good at covering it up. A too bold or direct stare may be concealing behaviour.
Liars feel they sound unconvincing and tend to give too much information to make it sound more convincing; they also tend to say "I promise" when there's no need to. They make it sound like a promise is a guarantee, but its not.

There's a few ways. 1st, if their body language differs from what they're lips say then we listen to the body language first. 2nd, the mind is a simple computer and it acts in certain ways. There's 8 basic places that we have in the mind and when ever we access any of them then we look in a certain direction. That's why people look up, down, or left or right etc, when they think on something. We have to know where they are but once we do then we know whether a person is making an image, or thinking of a *stored* image, or making a sound, or thinking of a *stored* sound, or thinking of touch, etc. But yea, there's all kinds of ways to tell what kind of thought they're having..

They say the eye's are the mirror to the sole, so look the person in the eyes. Body language is also a good indicator. Some people are just liers with no conscience and when you find them out, stay away from them.

They're lying when they look up and to the right instead of right into your eyes. Always watch for solid eye contact.

Well generally while lying people fumble ... but I'd read long ago that their eyelids and eye-corner shapes sort of change... try searching the web.

A lot of times, they'll be looking all around, or if they do look you in the eyes, they blink too much.

See if they can look you in the eye when they are speaking. If they cannot look you in the eye, that is a true giveaway that they are lying. Thank you for your question.
