They are doing well, very healthy growing over 2 times their original size in my pond. At what point do they begin to mate and have babies?

The size of your pond and fish will have something to do with their reproductive rate. A pond will only allow so many "inches of fish". A larger pond will allow a small number of fish to grow larger and reproduce more and a smaller pond will only allow that same number of fish to grow to a smaller size and reproduce less.
It is unfortunately true that the larger fish will eat the fry unless they are given sufficient places in the habitat to hide from the larger fish until they are large enough to survive in the school.

the only chance you have of the babies surviving is checking up on the pond to see if there are any eggs, if u see them immediatly put the eggs in a different tank or vise versa for the fish. they take about 2 or three days tro hatch.

The chances are GREAT! Once you have your little litter of guppies, take them to the pet store in the mall and sell the little swimmers!

not very good. they'll most likely eat their babies. i believe it is a form of survival for them.
