In my ongoing struggle to reduce the roach population in my kitchen Ive considered getting one of thoe little boxes you plug in that emitt sounds that drive roaches away. I'm skeptical... do they actually work? Are there brands that are better than others ?

The answer is no. Neither will they keep away mosquitoes, rats, mice, or any other pest. The only thing they will keep away is the cash in your wallet. Just another consumer ripoff.
Hire the services of a qualified exterminator.

I dont know about roaches, but the mosquito ones don't work for us on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
