I have three rabbits, one boy and two girls. The boy, Freedom, has runny eyes. I notice it especially in the summer. His sister, Dove, one of the girls, has a weird walking behaviour. She kinda looks like she's pigeon toed. One of my friends suggested maybe she has arthritus. Is there anyway I can be sure of what is actually wrong. Freedom and Dove are either 2 or 3 years old. Can anyone help??

I got Freedom and Dove from a lady who had a mom rabbit and six kits. She didn't want five of the kits, so I took them home. 3 kits found different homes after a bit, but Freedom & Dove stayed. I don't know if they were they were the result of the mom and dad being inbred or not.

Will Menthol hurt rabbits?? Like Vicks VapoRub?? Would it hurt my other girl rabbit if I put some near her cage to try to help her rapid breathing??

They each have their own hutch. They are all Mini Rex. They each have hay in their hutches. Their hutches are standing outside. I give them food in the morning and at night. They never get cabbage or lettuce, because I read it can give them diarrea (sp?). They get carrots and apples now and then, but not often. We can't afford to take them to the vet right now, but that is something I'm working on saving up for (and without allowance, it's not that easy...). She squirms too much to clip her nails, but we do do that once in a while...

Are all of your rabbits separated? Rabbits will fight at night when you are sleeping and maybe Dove got hurt. Are you rabbits angoras? The long hair can get in to their eyes and irritated it.
It sounds like Freedom has an allergy. Make sure that if you feed him hay, it isn't dusty. Dusty hay means that it got rained on, and the dust is from mold. Do you have them in a building. The urine can build up and burn their eyes.
Does your rabbits get proper food, meaning rabbit pellets and NO cabbage and very little greens. She could have had rickets when she was growing up. There wasn't enough calcium for her growing bones, and the weight bows them out. Also check to see if her toenails need trimming.

The runny eyes is a disease. Take the rabbit to a vet and he can give you something to put in the rabbit's eyes to stop it. I'm not sure about the walking behavior, legs could be formed badly or could have sore hocks.

i have a rabbit with runny eyes, and they've been like that for awhile and don't seem to be a serious problem. if you want to be sure you should see a vet though

You need to take them to a vet now. Do not give them vapo rub that may actually make the situation worse because rabbits have sensitive skin. Please take them to a Vet!
