Plasma. Why would you buy old LCD technology when newer, better TV's are on the market? The prices for plasma are going down all the time.

It depends. LCD is quite good, because: 1) low power consumption, 2) if HD ready highest resolution, 3) long life (of the screen of course :-) ), 4) low maintenence effort. LCD is not good in contrast - you can see it especially in movies with a lot of dark scenes. Black is not equal as black shown on a TV screen.
Plasma is also quite good, but: 1) highest price, 2) high power consumption, 3) average maintenance effort, 4) might produce "ghost" pictures (for example, if the screen shows a still picture a long time, you might see it even after it dissapeared). A projector isn't that good - or only as good as your wall or screen (the place you put the picture of the projector on.
I still consider a TV set (tube) the best choice. Best picture (especially contrast)! High quality possible with low price. Only negative fact about TV sets is the resolution (max. 625 lines compared to 1080 on HD-ready LCD of Plasma).

plasma beats the crud out of a lcd rear projection.
If you'd never spent time with a plasma before you wouldln't know it.

Once you go plasma, you will never go back.

rear projection takes up masses of room, and you have to be a way away for the picture to be clear. also, sometimes the picture can be a bit fuzzy. so, plasma to cut a long story short!!

Plasma, cheaper alternative and they don't produce as much heat as projectors. Also with projectors you sometimes need to buy additional speakers to go with them and you also would need to make a hole in your ceiling to hang it somewhere. I personally think the plasma is better.

plasma. I have one and they're great! the only problem with them is that if you're going to play video games on them you should wait until you've watched at least 200 hours of TV on it because otherwise you could get this thing called "burn-in" where an image in burned into the screen. but that won't happen if you wait until you've watched at least 200 hours of TV on it.
