That is between the parents and the child. What is her maturity level? Do you think she can be easily swayed by peer pressure?
Can she say no to a horny boyfriend?

The only controversy that I see, is that those girls want to wear short skirts, midriffs and the like, while parents are trying to tell them that those clothes are sending a message to dirty old men, that they aren't nessasarily trying to convey.
They want to wear the clothes because their friends wear them.
What looks cute on a small, 7 year old, will make a 12,13,or 14 year old look like a hoochie in training.
Some parents think these clothes look cute, and buy them for their daughters, while it brings problems for the parents of daughters who don't want their girls to look like they're on the stroll with their hoochie looking friends.
Some of these girls know their parents are at work, and try on their friends clothes. After about 12 years old, girls are into sharing clothes with their friends, who love doing makeovers. They take pictures of each other all dolled up, and they walk or ride their bikes around the block,or to the park especially in the summertime.
They don't seem to realize the danger. All we as parents can do, is to keep reiterating the dangers of doing this. Everytime you see or hear about a girl getting raped or killed, make your daughters watch it, and discuss it with them. They may be doing it innocently enough, but it's not them, it's those dirty old men that will see them as being older.
We need to teach them that "Less is More", only refers to makeup.

It they watch TV or read the magazines they are just emulating what they see... a lot of it is pure trash and their parents are accountable for having values that are easily compromised by "well everyone wears that".
Bunch of bootty shakin' hos and gangsta wannabee hip hop bad a.s.s dogs... The Taliban may have a valid point about the western culture.

It's summer and it seems that skimpy clothes are more comfortable, and young girls don't have so much to hide like older girls and ladies do.

People can wear anything they want if they live in a safe place in town. Otherwise run the risk of geting raped.

I don't only feel that parents shouldn't allow children in that age group to wear such things - I feel that type of clothing shouldn't even be made in those sizes. Kids have enough to worry about (so do their parents), without going out dressed like __s.

I don't think like that they make clothes like that, showing too much skin , or with really low necks. There are those sexual predator out there and you're not helping your kids any by letting thme wear clothes like that.... I don't think any teenager should wear clothes like that no matter the age, but then again, that's just my opinion.

have a bon fire and tell them that since you are paying for the clothes you will buy what you want them to wear. Stop trying to be your childrens friend, you are their parent.
