I want to get a wireless extender for my home but i dont know how they work. Please explain and tell me where i should put it.

well all a repeater does it take the signal given from the router and amps it up. and sends it out.
it acts as a good between eg between rooms, walls, floors etc.

it boots the signal so you extend the range of your wireless network. i suggest you place it 1/2 way between your router and the further point you will try connect.

The extenders give u a better signal around ur place. U can put them up near any walls and so on...
