The denial that racism and prejudice still exists today. People are too afraid to talk about it because it tends to be very controversial. We gloss over this country's history and try to omit all the bad parts that made this country what it is today. No one wants to talk about race issues so nothing gets solved.

First of all you must challenge the racism when you see it. No matter what it is. You have to say inform on the polices because there is a lot of ignorance out there. Second of all tell your kids expect it but don't accept. I think alot of parents just think if they don't pass bad habits to there kids they don't have to worry about it. But you have take a proactive approach with it Not contributed to it and not to take been treated badly because of it no matter who you are. Because if you don't Well- look at what AW has written. Heaven knows how many young people have read that and actually believe it. And then they absorb it and build ideas and treat people accordingly
BTW, AW -First you talk about Affirmative Action programs- Prejudice against whites? Was not white woman helped the most with quotas. Did that not raised many households over the poverty line with getting you gals blue collared work, -more than the rest of the minority number combined Provided HUGE opportunity in Law, academia, and advertising. Quota's made the Ad industry white female dominated-. So tell me-how did you suffer?
How long did it take whites to get out then Tenement or slums until policy changes and targeted help during like the post war step program helped them on feet-how -about 3-4 generations. 5 for those that finally got out in the 60's The tenements that have a Blacks and Hispanics population (and be real that's who you are talking about) are a product of The War of Poverty Act- those Complexes are called projects.
You should do yourself a favor and look up the The Act because there Considering it was made only a few years before I was born there is no way people have freaking been it for generations!
95% of crime is committed by Minorities not quite like most societies the majority commits the majority of the crime here.
Check link below from a actual government agency and while they haven't got 1995 up yet, I am sure this is good enough!
So imagine the irony I feel Of course if I called you a racist it wouldn't be well because you are it would be because ????? I guess because I just like saying it??

I truly believe the biggest obstacle in America right now in regards to race is races standing up for themselves, and quit blaming others for things that happened hundreds an hundreds of years ago...
If you want to see change in the world- the first thing you have to do is change yourself. Accept that tomorrow is not granted to you and if you want something you need to work hard to get it, just like everyone else. Quit using race as a reason why things happen to you and only you because that isn't right- bad things happen to everyone. I am not saying there are not racist, ignorant people out there, but if you live above reproach, you more than likely Will outsmart those types of people. Its not up to you to worry about the rest of the world, if everyone took time and minded their own business and changed their lives, then eventually there would be no "issues" like that.
Racism is ugly, and its even uglier when people believe that just because they are who they are that they have to follow what media, our communities, and sometimes our own families say we should do/be.
Fight for whats right, especially when its in your face. But if you get arrested for something, or denied something, quit crying about its because i am a black/white, Latino, Asian, African, Somalian etc..., say its due to something you did , take responsibility and try to change so it doesn't happen again.

There are 2 obstacles, 1 large and 1 small.
The small obstacle are the racial stereotypers and supremacists that blindly believe that all members of one macrorace are better than all members of another macrorace, and that the races should be forcibly segregated. It is a small obstacle because there aren't many of them.
The large obstacle are the blind fanatical egalitarians that believe that race is a social construct, or that racial differences are due to the environment, and that races should be forcibly integrated.
The solution is to kill all of the people from the first group, who are the lesser evil, then round up all of the people from the second group and put them in torture chambers, to repay the massive damage that they have inflicted upon society. Once their debt is repayed, they are killed.

America doesn't have this obstacle to solve...it's people who do.
There's racism everywhere with everyone; prejudice = prejudge and simply quantifies racism.
In short, there is no way to prevent racism unless everyone was hypnotized to not have these thoughts and/or feelings, all of history was completely rewritten with everything thrown out that even hinted towards racism (including the Bible), then maybe...

"The sole means now for the saving of the beings of the planet Earth would be to implant again into their presences a new organ ... of such properties that every one of those unfortunates during the process of existence should constantly sense and be cognizant of the inevitability of his own death as well as of the death of everyone upon whom his eyes or attention rests.
Only such a sensation and such a cognizance can now destroy the egoism completely crystallized in them that has swallowed up the whole of their Essence and also that tendency to hate others which flows from it ..."

This is easy
Get all the different races to stop acting and being like the stereotypes that portray them.
example Blacks on drugs and welfare
Latinos drugs and gangs
white better than everyone
If you act like your stereotype then that's is how people will see you and they wont care about the rest

It is not America that have the race issues, it is us, each individual. You and me both have to look deep down in ourself and ask " how can I change this racist world " It is up to the people not the government.

a. The government must stop it's affirmitive action programs- all that is doing is making White people angry about being discriminated against. It is also basically preaching that most minorities can't get into the schools Whites, East Asians, and Jews can.
b. The media must stop pushing the low-browed lifestyles they are currently pushing. Teens throw a sh!tfit if they see another teen smoking but laugh and join in a group that is doing drugs. (Smoking isn't the best thing to do, but it is an example of how screwed up the media is. Another example of this is how they are encouraging impregnating teenage girls and/or having babies out-of-wedlock in your teenage years.)
c. There must be a push for everyone to work, live by morals, and to enforce the laws. Look at who inhabits the ghettos/projects- after several decades of affirmitive action programs, why are they still there? Discrimination? I doubt it- that's just the blanket of lies they hide under. And, why is it that every 7 out of 10 Black babies are born out of wedlock...? By pushing those first two issues, hopefully all people will start living by them. (I am especially stressing these issues for minorities not to be racist but because of the reasons I mentioned.) Also, as sad and hard as it is for some of you to believe, about 95% of crimes are committed by minorities each year- a number that MUST be reduced. To get it reduced, individual effort will be needed. We should start arresting those committing crimes- to seperate that bad seeds from the good. (That should go for everyone- regardless of race or gender.)
d. Finally, people should stop crying prejudice, racism, discrimination, and/or sexism (an issue that really doesn't fit into this answer but I felt I should mention it anyway) whenever something goes wrong for them. People use those words- no matter how much they will deny it- often just to get out of trouble. Prejudice is the act of prejudging- something that most of the world isn't guilty of when it comes to racial issues. Most people see facts, statistics, and individual people in general- they can't be guilty of prejudice. Racism is unjustified hatred of another race, usually based on prejudice- most people aren't guilty of this, either. As much as we don't like to think so, people who just believe that all races are different are NOT racists- according to what a half-Black friend I have told me, those people are considered racially aware people. (A group she puts herself into.) Discrimination and sexism are just two other words people like to cry when something goes wrong for them, but I think most people will get the picture. Also, I'd like to point out the high minority-on-White hate crime rates- an issue that must be solved.
@klg1230:
a. Many Whites feel they are being discriminated against because of the affirmative action programs. I honestly don't believe that people should be forced to hire others because of their race or gender- just on their qualifications. Also, I know I know some people are going to jump on me for this, but there is no catagory for Hispanics.....
b. I am not a feminist at all- I hate the idea of hiring (or electing) women just because of their gender.
-Oh, yes, and before anyone starts jumping on me for yet another reason: I'm not trying to argue racial supremacy- just racial differences. I like what Science wrote about forced integration being a problem-something that I forgot to mention.
