I hate to think he suffered . Well not just Freddie, anyone who suffers from this .

I've read the Freddie Mercury's real life book "Mercury & Me"
written by Jim Hutton(Freddie's mate).
Jim has mentioned that in 1987 Freddie did an examination &
then he realised that he had HIV positive!
Later two big scars appeared on Freddie's face which were
fixed by a plastic surgery...(If you look at Freddie's last videos,
specially "These are the days..." you can notice his face terribly
suffered!) But Freddie fought with his disease & carried on
his career much happier than before!

In addition Jim has mentioned that in late 1991 Freddie wasn't
able to EAT food! And that he had to drink juice only. Also in
the last November days Brian & Roger had gone to Freddie's
house to record his voice, for these 3 last songs: The show
must go on-A winter's tale, & the very last, Mother Love...
(though they have had recorded the music & demos before)
Jim says that Freddie couldn't even talk or move in last 4 days
of his life.... (I mean his friends used to take him to bathroom.)
...Freddie's last word was "Pi Pi" when he died softly...

I hope I hadn't made you sad girl...I'm a big Queen fan, but this is
Aids & this is how CRUEL the world is!

from what i've read, he didn't have it very easy in the end.. he basically would go into the studio whenever he could just to record anything he could("Made In Heaven"). this wouldn't last too long either as he couldn't really cope with it.. (A good example of how it must of been is the song "Mother Love" on that album.. He only managed to record the first 2 verses of the song before he had to go home and rest. he died pretty soon after that, so the last verse of the song is sung by Brian May..) Although he (according to all accounts that i remember from the time) died "peacefully in his sleep", (which i think is something that news anchors say to "soften the blow") i am pretty sure he suffered...
