I believe, as french president Jaques Chirac said, that Israel's reaction to the kidnapping of two soldiers by the Hezbollah organisation was disproportional. Israel has demolished the Lebanese airport, many buildings, and ALL exit routes out of Lebanon; the casualties keep increasing! Why involve INNOCENT civilians when the real issue lies between Israeli authorities and the Hezbollah organisation!?!? It appears that Israel has bigger, hidden motives; to say it more bluntly, I believe Israel wants to destroy Lebanon, the facts suggest nothing else but this. Also, the media appears to be biased as it gives more attention to the 3 Israeli casualties, whilst neglecting the 70 dead and 200 wounded Lebanese civilians! The information provided by the media is mostly inacurate and incomplete, misleading the viewer... I write this article in hope to reach out to people, and enable them to view this critical situation from a different point of view.

I acknowledge that the Israelis are under a lot of pressure but the response has been MASSIVELY disproportionate.
2 Israeli soldiers were captured, and some rockets fell on Israel. This was in response to Israeli attacks on civilian targets in Gaza. That was of course in response to another kidnapping. But that kidnapping was itself the result of years of persecution, enforced poverty, land thievery, wholesale destruction of homes and infrastructure and economic blockade by the Israelis.
Far, far more palestinians have died in the conflict than Israelis, but attempts by the west to give a "balanced report" often highlight Israeli losses as much as Palestinian. But the size of Israeli losses in terms of people and infrastructure is negligible compared to the losses on the Palestinian side.
The palestinian people are disenfranchised. If they have resorted to extreme violence it is because the Israelis have taught them, and the Lebanese, a very harsh lesson. Violence and military might is the only way to achieve results in the Middle East.
Israel's American-backed military has all the might and will retain the upper hand. The Lebanese and Palestinians, in the form of Hezbollah and Hamas can try and shock them, but it's like a flying buzzing around a gorilla. They will simply be swatted.
I'm not justifying Hamas and Hezbollah. I abhor their ideology and their actions. But I understand them, and Israel needs to understand why it is being targeted if this horrendous cycle is ever to stop.

Why should people listen to France of all countries? France just had 9000 cars torched by Muslims who were angry about a cartoon, and now they are offering political insight of how Isreal is
disproportional?
Since the Lebanese Govt ins't doing anything to stop or kill Hezbollah or the Palestinians hunting down terrorist groups, I don't have a problem or care with what the Israelis are doing.
If only the world had the will to use military force to wipe out terrorism, 90% of the worlds conflicts would be gone.
Don't say Isreal is killing innocent civilians. Isreal is taking out Hezbollah strongholds and other terrorist scum infested areas. Unfortunatly, these Islamic terrorists are wussies and hide behind civilians creating unfortunate civilian casualaties.
Also, they blocked exit routes for a reason. They don't want their kidnapped soldiers being transported out of the country. If you were chasing a bad guy, would you leave the door open behind you if he was in the same room? Hell no. Think about it.
Obviously you don't notice liberal bias and double talk from the media. Look at a BBC headline, "Israel kills Lebanese civilians", supporting Isreal? Like I said earlier, Isreal isn't purposely trying to kill civilians, only the terrorist rats hiding behind them.

First of all, nobody should be surprised by this. The Arab nations surrounding Israel have been attacking and terrorizing it since they ever got there. Think about this: Syria and Iran are using Lebanon's Hezbollah as a puppet army to attack Israel because THEY KNOW they cannot defeat Israel themselves. As for civilian casualties, yes it is tragic however there are casualties in war and everybody should know that. The tactics Terrorists choose to disguise themselves as civilians and hide behind babies using guerrilla warfare is one of the reasons they are "terrorists". As for the media, I have yet to see the destruction from the missiles launched at Israel, all i see are pictures of Lebanon that could have been shot from various angles to make it look much worse than it is. When you do watch the media, do not let some CNN old man talk reading off of a teleprompter make up your mind for you. Do some research behind the history of Israel. Before this ends think about this: If Israel fails in defeating these terrorists, who do you think the terrorists will come for next?

Where do you get your information?
"Israel has demolished the Lebanese airport"
Israel destroyed the landing fields, not the buildings, and it was done as an strategy, the hezbolla can not get more rockets now,
and if they try, they will need to do so in a very obvious way and they would be stopped.

This is about more than one sting operation. This is the final straw in a long story of attacks and terror. Who cares what France thinks about it?
