With crude oil climing to nearly $100.00 a barrel, Do you think that gasoline will be up to $5dollars a gallon by Christmas??.
I have seen $3.43 a gallon already and I think its time for the U.S to make a stand instead of being submissive corporate puppets..tell me your opinions, Thanks ahead of time.

Well, it's not like the writing wasn't "on the walls" years (decades) ago: you'd have to have been blind, major-time ignorant, or in the greatest state of denial of your life, to have not seen this coming. And still, Detroit continued and still does continue to stamp out "gas-gusslers"... just like a vacuum-brained Alfred E Newman... "What? ME worry? (NAH!)" The Detroit manufacturers didn't give a $#i+ then, and they don't really give one now; though to hear the latest TV advert "rant" by Bill Ford, there's a whole new game in town... they have the ability to increase the effieciency of even the high-powered V-8s, but as long as they idiots in the US still buy these expensive guzzlers, their "retooling" will be "minimal."
I'm just as angry at the automotive industry in this nation as the greedy oil executives that literally have as "over the barrel:" They have been in bed with one another since the "get-go." Don't kid yourself, they mean to hold this economy to ransom and they may succeed as they hold most of the cards.
It will take a whole new attitude ny the American public to turn this thing around... boycotts, car-pooling, etc. Trouble is, there is fast approaching a time when you'll be lucky to give your damn honkin' gas-guzzler away... nobody's gonna want them, unles "conversion" to a hybrid is made relatively inexpensive. Mark my words, its only gonna get worse 'cause we are talkin' a finite fossil fuel here, and even the corn growers aren't gonna be able to work us out of this mess. If I were you, and quicky lose any high octane gas guzzlers whille the loss to you is relatively minimal... there are still ignorami that will buy the damn things at a reduced rate.

It is the governments actions which have caused the oil prices to rise not the corporations, and if you would examine modern political structure you would see that the coercive nature of our governments, controls the corporations not the other way around. It is the corporations which are simply trying to produce through voluntary exchange, and the governments who use force to get what they want, and you are falling for it hook line and sinker in demanding that the government use its coercive power to "fix" a problem which they created.

The world is running out of oil. Prices are not going to go way down again. I don't use gallons but I do not think 2$ Can a litre is to far off. After Katrina it hit 1.52 $, though because of taxes and lack of American subsidies it always costs more in Canada.

I don't know much about how it works, but I do know that it is suspicious that the gas companies have record profits while drivers are paying so much for the "crisis". The sad truth is, cars run on gas, and our life style makes cars a necessity. There isn't much the public can do to fight gas prices except ride bikes, and we all know that not many people will do that.

Most oil comes from overseas. The US cannot control it. They can only decrease domestic production which is not a good move.
