Dangerously GOOD! Watch he and Albert Pujols will be the best first basemen in our time.

Good enough to win the home run derby and hit 60 homers in a season. Not good enough to win a gold glove or a silver slugger. Pujols will win the silver slugger every year till he retires. If Howard gets traded to an American League team. He might not win it there either. (I don't know if you'd count David Ortiz, a DH, as a first baseman for the award.) Unless Howard magically gets better than Pujols and Ortiz, he'll never get the award. Also,Howard is 26 years old while Pujols is 3 months younger. Ortiz though is 30 so he will retire before the other two. Howard won't win the gold glove just because he isn't a great fielder. (Sorry for the long answer.)

Both him and Pujols come from Missouri too. ohhhh Coincidence? I think not.

Maybe Missouri is producing baseball's next big hitters.

High School - Pujols came from Kansas City, Missouri
Howard - came from St. Louis, Missouri
