Terrorism won't be overcome by hugs and kisses, but a little statesmanship and diplomacy could go a long way toward trying to keep the peace in the Middle East. Jimmy Carter was the only President who really made any progress toward such a lofty goal. But Reagan, Bush I and Bush II believed that any conflicts can be solved with enough guns and ammo. Clinton was too busy cheating on his wife to worry about peace in the Middle East.

Terrorists are terrorists because WE help create them. The U.S. has become the planet's new 'evil empire' - and that causes other nations to consider nuclear weapons of mass destruction as a defense against our country's bullying tactics. We seem to think that because we're the biggest and the most powerful, we can run the world any way we damn well please. Well, we can't.

Other human beings with different cultures, different religions, and different ambitions believe they have just as much right to live on this Earth as we Americans do. Dimwitted politicians don't understand that WE are viewed as 'different' or even "dangerous" by many other of the world's societies.

Love, compassion, understanding, compromise, and tranquility are not liberal traits; they're human traits.

Hate, arrogance, hubris, avarice, and conflict are not conservative traits; they're human traits.

The only thing that will save our world from terrorism, or even a third world war, will be if human beings of all nationalities, all religions, all sexual persuasions, all skin colors, all ages, and all moral philosophies agree to live in harmony with each other. That will only happen when - and if - a world-wide calamity (such as a meteor colliding into Earth, an alien invasion, or monumental natural disasters as a result of global warming) forces us to come together as a single species.

Should such a calamity not happen, we will continue to hate, fight, persecute, and kill each other until the planet implodes on itself from the weight of all such wickedness, waste and wanton abandonment of human decency. -RKO- 07/15/06

Im an Independant so im in the middle of the road..., and I dont think that it can be stopped that way. But I also dont think it can be stopped by creating more reasons for the terrorists to attack either. This is basic logic that most have failed to understand....
