Half of what I see and even less of what I hear.

Well for me seeing is believing in some ways but not in others. For example, If I see a wolf chasing a deer I tend to believe that he will eat it if he can. If I see someone performing a magic trick however I tend to believe it is an optical illusion and that what I am seeing is not really an object disappearing into thin air. As far as believing what I hear, the same rule applies, for example...If I hear a human say something like "My uncle told me that those yellow birds are wild canaries" or "did you know a ducks quack doesnt echo?" I dont take thier word on it but rather I try to verify or disprove the statement with some scientific research or personal experience in the case of the duck statement. However when I hear anything other than a human talking I tend to believe it for example if I hear the sound of a Bittern calling from the marsh I believe exactly what I hear, if I hear thunder I believe there is a storm.

Seeing is not believing - if you are sensible that is. Look at magic, it relies on the speed of the hand deceiving the eye or misdirecting the eye away from what is being done.

Believing everything you hear would be stupid. What about if someone said you are ugly, unintelligent and will go through life as an absolute failure. Would you believe them? You would? So that is why you asked the question then?!!!

I saw dragons on the TV the other day, and a grape that looked really good but tasted like plastic was sitting on the table. Oh, and I was told that some people can live on the sun :)

I don't believe you put this question in Zoology? hmmm...

Humans can easily be fooled by what they see and what they hear...

we do not always interpret what we see or hear correctly.. it is biased by our own experience and what we expect to see or hear.

that is why magic tricks work
