It's not the most comfortable sensation, but it is bearable. On the pain scale of 1 to 10, it's about a 3.5. The best way I can describe the feeling is that it's a bit like getting a bad scrape very very slowly. Please also bear in mind that as the procedure goes on, it hurts less and less. The outline hurts the worst, and by the time they are coloring it in, you're pretty well numbed out.
I am a large adult male, and physical pain is not a big issue for me. All the same, after I sat through four hours of tattoo work (outline), I was a bit on the woozy side from borderline shock. I was able to walk back home, but I was kind of lightheaded and shaky.

It depends on your pain tolerance; and where you get the tattoo. I have 2 tattoos... my daughter's names. One I got on the back of my neck & the only time it hurt at all was when he was going over where my spine was. It felt kinda tingly; didn't hurt really. The 2nd one I got over my heart & that one hurt a little, mostly like a bee stinging you for a few minutes. Nothing unbearable. I've heard that the center of your chest, your calf, and your lower back are the worst places (pain wise) to get a tattoo. I wouldn't know though, as I don't have one any of those places! :)

The whole irony of tattooes is that you will feel pain, but not as much pain as the embarrassment of what it will look like in 30 years. Don't be another trendy follower!

It feels like a needle is poking at you at the rate of 100 times..Not a pleasant feeling...but worth it

It feels a little bit painful, but its worth getting one. Once you have it you wont regret having art on your body. I have My back and my chest tatoed. It looks tight. You should Get one

it feels like exactly what it is! like ten or so small needles digging in your skin, but it only hurts for that moment.
