No, we won't be getting involved, we ARE involved. Israel is our biggest and best ally in the middle east and has been for decades. What ever affects them will ultimately affect us. Remember that we have a huge Jewish population in the US and most of them have family ties, not just religious ties to Israel.
Also, the US has to get involved in what happens anywhere around the world. Everything that happens around the globe affects all of us on this planet. The days of not knowing/interfering are gone. The world is too small today and too many of us have the means to destroy it.

They will watch from the sidelines and offer some covert assistance if needed but if they see Israel being defeated then its on.
