Ok I deal with people like you (afraid of black eyeliner). Now use a black pencil for the evening, brown for the morning. The trick of the trade is to try and create almond eyes without looking tarty. Just outline closely to the eye lashes and just go towars the end. Then use brown or black mascara depending on the colour of the pencil and apply 3 strokes at the last lashes and two on the middle and corner ones. This will help you minimize the round eyes and get almond eyes which I figure they re the sexiest. Use light brown eyesahdow as a base and darker shade at the end. Remember if you focus on the eyes keep lips pale

Use a creamy pink or pinkish-peach- colored pencil along the outside of the lash line. Square faces have a tendency to make your features look "heavy" when you start applying too much makeup, or just makeup that's too dark, but if you use the pink, it actually should brighten your face up, and also, pink will make your brown eyes POP out and become more noticable - which is basically the entire point of eyeliner! Oh, and just a note - you can use it heavily on the top lid to make the color really show up, but it probably won't really look good if you put it on the bottom lid. If you put it on the bottom at all, try only putting it along the outside corner, and only go 1/3 of the way towards the inside, at the most! I think only if you're going for more of a costume or "punk" look would you want it the whole way across the bottom lid, and even then it would probably look better if it didn't touch the inside corner of the bottom lid. Just a suggestion, though - It's your choice, really!

Things to Consider...
the shade of your eyes. (This will effect how the colors work for you.)
the tools that you use to apply the shadow
how much shadow you use (the more layers, the more intense the color)
the shape of your eyes
your age group

Lid Shadow: Brush two shades of brown onto lid. Work a little mauve-brown around the corner.

Crease: A little of the brown that was used on the lid should be worked into the crease.

Liner: Cocoa (Pencils are the easiest to use, but shadows can be used as well.)

Mascara: Black (Brown eyes seem to need deep lush colors.)

**Take a little eye makeup remover and smudge the shadows for a softer look.

Not everyone has the same type of eyes.
Different Eyeliner Applications

Close-Set Eyes:
Line outer third of upper lids with gray, brown, or black liner. Smudge gently. Use a lighter liner on the inner eye to widen the space between eyes.

Small Eyes:
Draw a dark line gradually thickening at outer edge of the eye. Use a light-colored pencil (gold, silver, white) and draw under lower lash.

Deep-Set Eyes:
Line upper lash line with pale, shimmery liner. Then line outer edge of lower lash with a soft, neutral shade (gray or taupe). This will create the illusion of a less heavy lid.

Drooping Eyes:
Line outer third of eye very close to lashes, carefully sweeping the liner up at the corner of the eye.

eyeliner looks good on anybody you just have to know how to apply it, since you dont want to use black try charcoal or brown, dont veer off and get those crazy colors, and when applying it try applying it into the inner side of the eyelid, i know it sounds weird but it gives you this really natural look, while accentuating it.. and when applying it to the bottom .. try applying it only half way, because if you use a lot of eyeliner all around it will make ur eyes look smaller, and dont worry about your eyes looking uneven because the eyeliner will eventually smudge over to the other part where theres no eyeliner to even it out... i know the stuff im saying sounds wierd but trust me.. it works.. good luck!

I have brown eye too I use a soft brown and only on the top
lid over my eye lases. Under my bottom ones use a brown shadow lightly also if you use a light shadow in the tear ducks and over the dark shadow it opens the eye.

Good luck with this tips.

why don't you go to a booth in a store like macys? the ladies there often try things out on you for free. if you like what they show to you, you can buy it, but are not required to buy anything. good luck!
