Tiffany, I'm really not trying to "diss" you, okay? But you need to finish school. Your vocal skills are what they are you can get training and with practice become a great singer. But to gain the confidence you're seeking, to be able to stand in front of an audience and perform, you're going to need to acquire more skills than just singing.
What happens when you finish the song and Simon, Randy or Paula asks you some personal questions?
There you are on national TV and you've just sung your little heart out and when you open your mouth to speak you sound as if you haven't any grammar skills whatsoever.
Get the basics; ABC's , 1-2-3's, and i before e except after c.
Trust me, if you get the basic skills you need to compete in society at just a minimally educated level your confidence will grow and you'll develop the desire to learn even more.
Keep writing songs, and keep singing, don't ever stop that, but right now focus on your basic education. Get that, then you CAN become something! Anything you want.

Shyness is all natural and everyone is born with some degree of shyness however it depends on the environment in which the person grows which detirmans the extent of the individuals shyness. See a theripist to get your shyness under control before it takes over your life. The longer you leave it the deeper your self contiousness gets. It can (but not always) cause other insecurities as well. It would be a shame to not be able to show your talant and creativity because you are a little shy. Dont let it get you down though because i have a cousin that is extremly shy but he figured out a way of getting up infront of the class to present his work......he pretended that he wasnt nervous and it worked. thats what he does all the time now.
