I only watch programs I record with TiVo, so when I've watched the show I've recorded I turn it off. It's so wonderful to not have to watch commercials and to always have something to watch when you want, rather than making sure you sit in front of the TV at a certain time. With TiVo I watch far less TV then I used to, it's a wonderful thing :)

educational shows that take away the normality of the average show and turn a decent 30 minutes into an eye clawing torment that makes you beg for the gentle Ceres of death.

Content, whether advertising or programming that confirms my suspicion that the people who design these components believe they are dealing with simple-minded idiots ... that we can be conned and manipulated to any end they may desire.
When I reflect that they are probably correct in that presumption, I punch the off button in shame and sadness.

The cable, Direct-TV signal or the Dish going out. (Well, that's only if I don't have a good video/DVD to watch.) So, I would say nothing.
