don't worry !
remember only one team can win the cup.. and this time it was italy
if you are a fan of france team, remember that it is a wonderful and amazing thing that they came this far..
think about the last time italy won, more than 2 decades back..
think about so much other countries who want to win the same but didn't even reach semi-
it is sad but still

Its a 12 year cycle going back to 1970. Italy lose then win a World Cup Final every 12 years. 1970 lost, 1982 won, 1994 lost, 2006 won.
Even their 1st ever win follows this cycle which means
1934 won, 1946 should've lost but no World Cup, 1958 should've won but didn't qualify for Tournament. Their other win (1938) however, doesn't follow this sequence.

Wow, do I ever feel for you. Sounds like you really weren't interested in a grand debate about the game as much as you merely wanted to comment that the outcome cost you $10. I know how you feel. There were several matches that I went won way and my husband went another. Fortunately I ended up winning more than he did so his honeydo list got a little longer. Better luck next time.....

The only reason they won is because Zidane got out after head butting some guy. The coach also took out 2 of the best players when they needed them the most. Did you not see France had the ball most of the time and was making chances to shoot. If it had not gone to penalty kicks and Zidane didn't get out they could have won, but it was Zidane's choice to head butt that guy and ended his soccer on a bad note.

Well, if you don't like it, I'm afraid you'll have to cope with it. There's nothing else you can do. The World Cup is over, the trophy is in Italy, and cursing, complaining or crying is totally useless.
Better luck to the team you were supporting in 4 years!

to all of you who qualify the french as sore losers... the french press praised Italy, many of my friends are french and they are definitely not sore losers, they accept the loss graciously, and hope to do better next time. Luck and fate work both ways, look at how the Italians take it when they lose tournaments. Italy won this one, they played well, the materazzi incident is over, that's it, that's all.

they won because of team spirit and lets face it...they had a very good team with lots of depth........which is essential in such a tournament..........plus their coach did an amazing job.......yes they got a break in the Australia game but look so did other teams..including France.......they got a penalty shot on a very debable call against Portugal and that was the difference in the game.......Portugal outplayed them but couldn't captulize on their chances........France got lucky again in the final..that penality shot they got was a mistake........the ref for some reason saw more contact than there actually was.........replays show that Materazzi hardly touched the guy......the guy dove and got the call......unjust as it is.......we had to accept it........now it's your turn to accept it........Italy played outstanding soccer against Ukraine and Germany.........actually in my opinion the game against Germany was the very best in the whole tournament.......as for France's games against Brazil (they are still a great wonderful team) and Portugal.....wow.......what boredom.....they got a goal and played defense the rest of the way.....and for the ref reference.......isn't that a typical reaction when you lose?????......the ref called a fair game......he ****** up in the first half awarding a penality shot which wasn't actually one and for the Zidane dismissal.........what's he supposed to do?........all he did was consult his linesmen and fourth official........this happens in every sport when the head official hasn't seen the play..................they consult their linesmen...........happens in baseball........football..........hockey........get real ****......Materazzi has a history but so does Zidane..........a very bad history of similiar actions which he has been suspended for..........bottom line..............the better team won.........and when we did lose on penality kicks back in 94 and in 98 we were not bashing the other team..........stop crying and accept it..........and move forward and cheer on your team on the next occasion..............Ciao...........Bravo Italia!!!!

Because the 'fix' was 'in' and now there are three teams that won't be playing even in their own leagues until 'they' move the clubs or change thier names and are 'owned' by 'cousin' alfonso.....look to spain or another 'roman'-empire' 'helper to ''win'' the next couple of world cups.....
