No. Salt won't do it and will trash your carpet. You can try appropriate insecticides like sevin, bombs and others, or natural stuff like diatomaceous earth. But the larvae (that eat organic bits in your carpet/furniture) form cocoons and you MUST vacuum thoroughly any area where you suspect them or your pets have been - on, under furniture, all the carpet, sweep/vac floors when you treat and for a couple of follow-ups. These cocoons can stay dormant for years and hatch out with vibration and they are largely insusceptible to the products that kill the hatched out fleas.

No. Salt won't work.

You must treat any pets with a good spot treatment. The spot treatments work best.

You must spray upholstered furniture with a product designed for that.

You must use bug bombs that specifically list "flea eggs, larvae and adult fleas.

FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!

I have tried to save money by using only one or two of these, and it doesn't work. Keeping the pets treated after you get rid of the infestation is your cheapest and best preventative. But you may still need to treat the apartment once or twice a year.

No. Get some bug bomb and remove all living things cover your food and bomb the place. Then do it again in a week, because bug bombs do not kill flea eggs. Then spray in yet another week.

Fleas are not repelled by salt, bay leaf or any other food item.
They hatch new fleas in a week after the eggs are laid, so you have to repeat each treatment every week until you've killed all the hatchlings.

take your pet or pets outof your apt. then set off a flea bome. before bringing the pet back into the house open all windows, to air out the place. have your pet get a flea treatment..also what i do is use advantage for my dogs. and use a vacume cleaner where i put math balls in the bag. as you vacume up the floor the mothballs will kill any fleas futher from getting in or staying. remember. onebombing of pesta side is not enough, repet in 2 weeks as eggs will have hatched.

I am assuming you have pets. Get Advantage or some other topical flea remedy, put it on your (dog?) and it will kill the fleas on the dog. Since they can only live on animals, the other ones will eventually just die.

Bomb every 2 weeks to kill hatching eggs. They also lay dormant in winter only to emerge in spring again. Keep bombing.
