Yes, because the government would've purchased the land from the original owners...and everyone would've been happy. The only problem is that its not Jeruselum or the Holy Land, how about near Devil's Tower?

My question is did they have fundamentalist Jews back in 1947 that absolutely wanted to be settled in the Holy Land, even tho it was currently the Muslim holy land?

Israel was not formed by Zionism. After World War I, which was the end of the Turkish version of the Moslem jihad, the victors knew that the Holy War would return eventually. So they created Israel right in the middle of the original Moslem conquests as a decoy for the next jihad to be distracted by.

The level of peace in that region would be much higher today, no doubt. The Jewish people never had a land of their own and even today their land is an artificial one delicately held together by a couple of strings.

No, because Jews wanted to go back home not to a state someone created for them because they felt sorry for all they suffered. The Jews lived in Palestine thousands of years before it became Israel. Palestine used to be called Judea get it Jew dea? Judea was renamed Palestine around 137 B.C.E.(before the common era) by the Romans to try to obliterate the history of the Jews. Invaders have been fighting over that piece of land for millenia.

Think about this...What if Pakistan was created say near the Niagara Falls in NY and they claimed that the people of Niagara Falls wanted freedom or to join them just because the Paki's want it? What would the US have done? And what would have happened to the tourist economy of Niagara Falls? And what if Canada was like China? Also, what if the USA breaks up like the USSR did?

In point of fact, Niagara Falls New York would prefer to join Niagara Falls Ontario.

And then launch a war against Buffalo.

No, because the Jews would never accept Wyoming as the new Isreal. They would all still go back to the Middle-East and fight with anyone who is in that area.

You could put Isreal on the moon and fighting would still occur.

That would have been a very good proposal.
But I do not think USA would have given an inch of their land for free.
It is only from other persons pockets that the most extravagent charities fall out.

yes, without a doubt. Western religions are not quite as fanatical as Muslim's. We have our share, but by and large, ours are a wee big fewer. And fewer Westerners are apt to follow lunatic policy...Westerners promote free thinking (frowned upon by some fundamentalists) and in a free thinking society, terrorism is not taken kindly to. Good luck

Frankly, I was prepared to give them New Jersey.

But yeah, that was the stupidest place on the planet to put them.

Keep in mind though, that is where they wanted to go.

God's Monkey house (PJ O'Rourke)

The Holy land. Mostly because it is so full of holes from the constant warfare.
