It would help to know your scoring system. Also, the size of your roster...which position starts. This impacts the way that you will rank your players. It also depends on the type of league, Redraft- (draft a new team each year), keeper league (you select certain players each year -3-4 typically that you keep and redraft the rest) or dynasty -keep the whole team and draft only rookies entering the league or free agents.

Be careful of advertisers who come to this site to get you to buy there web tools... I think the www.footballstarters site has the owner and/or his brother pimping the site all the time.

I suggest that you join www.fantasyguru.com to learn more...(for a fee) The site is one of the better ones out there. You may also want to look at www.footballguys.com to get updates of what is happening with players and www.fanball.com. I am not affiliated with any of the sites...though i do post messages on the fantasyguru.com board quite often.

Most believe that you need top RB's to win. This is because top RB's may get 100 to 160 more touches or chances with the ball than other RB's that share the job. Look at the last two years of top performers...you can find that on your draft website i'm sure.
Find a ranking sheet. Evaluate why some of the players on the ranking sheet may be higher or lower than listed. Are some an injury risk? Are some RB's 31 or over...very old for the NFL is any back 32 or over...is a back going to be in better position to get more carries. (Ronnie Brown or Chester Taylor?)

...I'd suggest getting a top 10 WR or better AKA- S. Smith, C Johnson, Terrel Owens, Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, Larry Fitzgerald ,Randy Moss.Boldin, Hines Ward, C. Chambers.

Without knowing details...you may want to simply take the best available player...Waiting to take a second QB for a long time since you have the best already. Your second QB should be somewhere around 15-18th on your depth chart....and get depth at RB and WR.

Alternate between RB and WR until all starting positions are filled or there is much greater value at one position than the other. Your rankings and knowledge of the players and the fantasy pts they are expected to produce will help you.

When ranking your players list the expected fantasy pts per game that YOU expect... for each of the top 35 RB and 50 WR's, 20 TE's. Be conservative in your estimates...and place a "U" for upside if you believe that the player could exceed est. dramatically. The estimate should be numbers you believe you can count on.

Well, Peyton Manning is a great QB, but what about you RBs? That is, without a doubt, the most important position on your team. I hope you drafted RBs well, because they'll carry (or sink) your team much more so than any QB or WR will.

last year was my first year and i ended up winning! but most other people in my league were first timers too. The main advice i can give you is RESEARCH! google online and find different rankings - or if you wanna drop a few bucks you can pick up a magazine at barnes and noble (or any other bookseller) there are a few magazines to choose from - read up and you will know everything you need to.

if u want to win that league u will need a good RB and WR as well as a good Def.

if u have P. Manning as ur QB that's a good start next u need someone like LT, S. Alexander, as a backup u should take T. Bell as for ur WR u need T. O., M. Harrison, A. Boldin, as backup try getting J. Horn and as for u Def get the Bears, Steelers. u also need a good TE and a K. for ur TE get A. Gates and as a backup get J. Shockey and for ur K u need N. Rackers, A. Vinatieri.

hope this might help u get the bragging rights that u need to win that league.

Try also The Talented Mr. Roto

http://www.talentedmrroto.com

Daily postings are free, must become a paying member for archives and draft kits, etc. I joined last year for $19.95 for one year. Decent price for what you get. Along with football, they cover all the sports, basketball, baseball, hockey, pga golf, etc.
