There seems to be more and more negative press and propaganda about motorcycles. Do you think it is about time bikers take more intrest in their neighbors and non motorcycling public. After all respect is mutual and many people feel that "Loud Pipes Violate Rights".

Who should be expected to wear ear plugs in their own back yard or head phones to watch TV?

The loud pipes save lives is not at all factual. After all when a bike pulls up to a intersection or to vehicle, it is not heard untill it is past and driving away.

There have been many new laws passed throughout the country regarding motorcycle noise and the AMA is spending valuable resorces defending the privilage to ride. Remember operating a motorvehicle is not a right but a licensed privliage.

Check out this video...there is more and more anti motorcycle propaganda every day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt-ytACeVM0&search=motorcycle=

For those of you who think the sound of an unmuffled Harley's exhaust is music to your ears, or those who like to practice wheelies on the public streets of your community... just be aware that a bigger and bigger majority of the tax paying and VOTING citizens are complaining to their elected officials about your noise and your unsafe acts... And those elected officials are taking action!

Several communities across the USA have already tried to ban motorcycles from their communities, or have passed noise ordinances that outlaw ANY modified or aftermarket exhaust system. More are looking at tougher laws and stricter enforcement of existing laws. Orange County, CA has recently passed laws that make it almost impossible for property owners to ride motorcycles ON THEIR OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY!!! Don't think "it can't happen here"... It already has!

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is working to fight these discriminatory laws, but they need your help. Join the AMA and support your right to ride your motorcycle, but even more important... STOP THE STUPIDITY! Ride within the law, and have some consideration for the other guy who shares the road with you.

Loud Pipes Violate Rights! Quiet pipes save privileges!

Your concern is about noise level, not about motorcycles. What about all the freaks who drive around with there $3000 speakers booming so loud it is not even music. It shakes the windows on the van and sounds like a big truck rolling over me.

There are lawn mowers next door at 7am. There is loud music across the alley at 1am.

Bikers should take more interest in their neighbors and the non motorcycling public? The types of people who have no respect for their neighbors are not all bikers.

There is no way in hell I would give up my motorcycle for anyone. My bike isn't excessivly loud, but if I am taking off early in the morning, then I roll it to the middle of the street so it didn't wake up my neighbors.

Motorcycles are more popular today than they ever have been. Judges, doctors, teachers. Your stereotyping of the outlaw biker is overuled by the society norm.

Sad to say, there are many laws on the books that are not being enforced regarding noise, regarding mufflers, loud stereos and improper use of horns.

In some cases, liberal courts discourage the police, the Chief of Police being un accountable to the public ignore complaints. Heck in some cases the police are as guilty as the dirt-bag noise polluter.

I haven't heard any negative press about bikes, much less, "more and more". What people feel is that 'loud jungle music is a pain in the asss. You pipes argument is one that only turns up on YA

Your profile doesn't show anything and your statement about AMA is dead wrong.

Your whole question is bogus.
Got play somewhere else.

Here are just four articles regarding motorcycle bans. Two bans has been upheld in the court. Also a AMA article on fighting a ban.

Some people need to research before rattling off at the pie hole.

i dont think they can ban motorcycles but some people overdo it with loud pipes and music and that they can ban or regulate and if you want to protest a company watch kayak .com commercials on tv and then see if you want to book a trip with them

Tell you what....When they start regulating how loud you can have a stereo. Ill worry about how loud my pipes are. I have com across kids who are playing their stereo so loud it drowns out my pipes. So ALL you loud pipe haters need to focus on loud stereo's too.

PS. Thay are also going to have to start ENFORCING the loud stereo thing before I will change.

i definantly dont think that cities are going to ban motorcycles because there are so many people that depend on them as transportation, they have low smog emissions, and the also conserve fuel. so if the government got rid of them thats just dumb

I seriously doubt we will get banned. Not all of us have the obnoxious pipes....I have air horns on my bike, I can control when I scare the poop out of someone.

As long as bikers use their regulation mufflers (AND SIGN THEIR ORGAN DONOR CARDS) I say "Keep On Rolling!"
