What do I need to be a DJ?

Question

I am interested in DJ'ing parties and that sort of thing but need to buy equipment. I have several thousand songs on iTunes already so I think that I am good in the music part of it. What else do I need to do parties? I do have several guitar amps and I wondered if I could use those from a USB Port or something?

IT really depends on the type of parties ur djing at. For instance, some people might want you to mix music which means you would have to get some kind of software (Kramix etc...) that will allow you to do that. You need party speakers,a mic, maybe even some turntbales take it back to the old skoo! Get yourself some strobe lights. Next time you go to a club or party pay attention to the equip. the DJ has.

You need a small mixer board, and even if you have some itunes, you may want to invest in a cd player or two. You will need decent speakers as well. Start small & as you begin to make money, invest it back into your craft. I would get a good sound system before I started worrying about lighting and effects. To start with, I wouldn't worry too much about turn tables. Make sure you are actually going to like what you are doing and that you will be able to make money at it first.
