When I was answering the questions on the phone, and they were filling out the info, they asked "Race?"
And I said "Human."
And they said, well, on this form we have categories and "human" is not one of them. And I said "Well, isn't human a race?" And I thought to myself, whatever happened to the term "human race"?
And they read off the list of acceptable races and if yours is not on there they have to put "Other." And she explained to me that that will create more questions, so it's just better to pick a race go with it.
And the list went like this: White, Black, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian, Oriental, South Asian, Pacific Islander, Aborigine, Arabic, Hunsic, Eskimo, and I don't know what all.
You mention Swedish and English, those were not on the list. That may be a problem for you down the road. All these forms have to be filled out by next year, it's all a part of homeland secretary or whatever.
Me, I just ended up putting "White" like she told me to, cause there was nowhere in the whole ton of paperwork to put "Human".
Jeez.
