The only bugs around here that make noise in the trees are bees buzzing around or drunks that climbed up them and get back down..
Other than that we have birds and woodpeckers that like the trees, and the occasional possum, raccoon, squirrel, chipmunk or neighbors cat going after any of the above. Once in a while you will hear about a bear or couger being in a tree too..

they are called locus or locust!the ones that make noise on the ground are crickets and grasshoppers.but they are all in the same insect family!

there's more than one that makes a noise. Cicadas are fairly raucous.

if it is anything like where I'm from, it's probably cicadas...they're really noisy.
