What do you think? I live in Nashville, and the a/c bill would proaby be pretty high these summer months!

I used to do that with my heating bill (I live up north) and it costs about $70 per month year around. Otherwise, I'd have to pay over $300 a month during the coldest months of the year. I don't know about you, but I can't afford the highest month's expense, so I'd rather pay more year around.

I'd strongly recommend going on the budget plan, especially if your income is the same year around.

I am a consultant in the oil/natural gas business and my advise is to definately go on the budget billing, better yet, if you live in an area that you can contract for the year or longer at a set, flat rate (usually called a 'locked in' rate) per amount of energy used (electric or gas etc.) then do it now. From what I see the price of oil and gas will continue to climb for some time. Lock in your rate if you possibly can, if not get it spread out if you live in an area that is particularly cold or hot part of the year.

Not as high as your gas bill. Call the electic company and ask for the usuage amounts from the past year. Based on what was used last year then you can decide if you want to go on the budget plan.

i feel budget billing is a good way to go. and they adjust it annually. sometimes you get money back and sometimes you have to pay at the end of the 12 months. another good thing i automatic payments. they will take the money you owe right out of your checking on the same day each month and you don't have to worry about missing the due date.
