go to a professional or you risk serious infection which could result in losing the nipple or major scaring. Be somewhat sensible please, if you must do this do it right.

You Can Use Ice. But I Would Not Suggest You Doing It Your Self Seeing As The Needle Is Hollow Professionaly And Yours Might Be Solid The Solid Needle Actually Pushes the skin out of the way and the hollow one actually cuts out a hole so the skin that is either pushed a side can get infected very easy and it will never heal right

If you are stupid enough to pierce them your self then go right a head, but have fun with the doctor bill when you do it wrong and get a serious infection, plus you have to use a certain type of needle. my sister pierced her belly button by herself and it wasn't pretty, nipples? well get them professionally done that's all I can tell you. I know you won't listen but at least I know I warned you.

they squeeze the bit to be pierced quite hard
it hurts so much you don't notice the needle going in
