Another Universe. See, we are actually a part of a Mulit-verse, if you will. Limitless possibilities. We are on Earth-1, even though Earth-2 had been around longer. When we break the Speed Force, we can get to Earth-2, Earth-3, and maybe even the Bizarro World.

well as far as we know the end of the universe would have to keep getting bigger. The universe is expanding in what scientists think is caused by the "big-bang" (i think most of you know this). How do we know that the universe is expanding? There is an easy process called the Doppler Effect. This deals with red-shift or blue shift on the visible color spectrem. When they send microwaves towards objects that are going away from earth (or the source of microwaves for that matter) they will produce a red-shift . As the object continues to go away, the frequency of the wave sent out would decrease and a greater wavelength would return (than the one sent out). this resulting in a red shift (since red has a greater wavelength than any color). Modern astronomers have used the doppler effect and all results have come back red-shift. Since there is no up down left or right everything is expanding away from each other (galaxies). So right now there is no way of knowing what the end of the universe is. At least in our lifetime since galaxies are expanding at a great rate of i think like 56,000,000,000,000 miles per second. yea theres no way you'll know what the end is. though there is something called dark matter which scientists believe that makes up about 90% of our known universe. We can only see the visible 10% of it. so maybe the end of the universe is there we just cant see it.....

You mean space wise? Well if you get in a spaceship and head straight out away from the center of the universe. If you travel fast enough you will eventually catch up to the outer ring of the radiation left over from the Big Bang.
Beyond that there is nothing but empty space. Not even atoms like there is in the empty space between planets and galaxies. Beyond the end of the universe there is only pure empty space waiting to be filled with new stars.
This is EXACTLY like a forested mountain. If a mountain is tall enough, the trees will stop growing up to a certain altitude. This is called the "Tree line". The universe is the same way. If you go out far enough you get to the "Star Line" where stars haven't formed there yet. As the universe expands over time, it will eventually grow out to engulf that spot, but still farther out there is nothing. Just like the empty bare summit of a forested mountaintop.
Of course, as far as science knows. The empty space beyond the universe goes on forever without end. (But thats just a theory)

There is no end. All the energy and all of the matter that ever existed always existed. The only difference is the space between which is caused by the universe maintaining the speed of light rule which says light always appears at the same speed regardless the perspective of the viewer.

Jim's response about the mulitverse is gaining acceptance, and the most reasonable one put out to-date (since it's the only theory that can take us back in time to what was there before the big bang (prior to the singularity)). That said, it's probably a crap theory that will be replaced in 5 years as well. We will probably never know.
I was always a big fan of the Men in Black theory that our universe is just a marble in a fat alien kid's collection.

Throw me a bone here, pal. Universe means the whole enchilada(that's all there is and there ain't no more). How about the known universe, the visible universe, the outer limits of matter in space?
Now, anybody that answers one of these with authority is on crack or Al Gore.

The "whole enchilada" answer is most accurate. No, not even "empty space" exists beyond that. In fact, there is no "beyond that." The question itself is nonsensical. It's like asking which way is north when you're standing on the North Pole.

It is the same of finding the numer after infinity. as infinity is some thing that is very large that we cannot write the next number.
In the same way universe is an "endless" concept so we cannot tell correctly. I assume darkness is there after universe.
Hope you like this.

It makes me happy to know more people are thinking this type of **** too,...... thanx for existing. Well I cant say,..... I shouldn"t say because there is nothing to say,...... It"s just more stage for physical happening, actually there isn"t anything outside the universe for it to happen into,.... you see? However theedge of "outerspace" is in fact spreading, oh and at a tremendous speed too!
I"m sorry man! I can"T say simple as that.

I think that there is other universes after this universe because I don't think that there is billions of other universes but who knows exactly. That is what I think!
