.... and if so, wouldn't that be funny?

Temporarily, sure, but it wouldn't last, all the different kinds of structures (bone, blood vessels, muscles, etc) wouldn't fuse. It would rot, and that would be gross, not funny.

Personally I think if you attached Hyena ears to your head, that would be funnier.

Currently, humans would reject it. The fuel to feed a dogs cells are different then a humans (Blood). It would be like a liver donar recipient rejecting the liver. Current medications have atough enough time stopping rejections between humans, much less different species. But, in time this will probably be overcome.

I highly doubt it. I'm an RN who's worked with transplant patients and your body would reject the paw. You'd be taking so many immunosuppressive drugs, that paw wouldn't stand a chance. You'd probably get an infection and die. Yep, it would be funny, though.

I wouldn't think so but I consider my dogs almost human! Blaze gave me "high five "this morning and had a great big smile on his face! He also likes me to hold his paw! A very sweet dogie guy!

No, not at this time. A dog is a different species than a human, so there will never be a match. The human body would reject it immediately.

Assuming the surgery worked, you would need to be on so many anti-rejection drugs afterward that you would probably die from the next cold you caught because you would have virtually no immune system to speak of.

It would also greatly complicate going to the bathroom, even if you managed to keep your claws well-trimmed.

No, because the immune system would destroy it.

But you COULD genetically alter a human to have dog's paws for hands.

Hmmm...

Igor, to the laboratory. I have a new project!

I would theink that the foreign tissue would be rejected.

And it would only be funny for a couple of minutes, like when they tried to pick up thier cup of coffee.
