I say Cowher, wait how do you mean "active"? You say Gibbs but isn't that biased to his LAST run as coach and not this one. Sorry I admit he had a great year BUT I can't put him on the list as we have to see how he does THIS run. It would be like putting Art Shell on because he was one of the best Coaches for the Raiders. Before I hear from Madden fans I said ONE OF, not The BEST. Although we won't get into my opinion of John "if you aren't cheating you aren't trying hard enough" Madden. As to Bellichick IT IS THE TEAM. It is the GREAT QB. Want proof? Look up Bellichick and Cleveland Browns. Also as to Cowher I say look at all his coordinators that have gone on. Dungy started under Cowher. I could name two or three more but I know Dungy will get mentioned on here. For another look at the Bengal's Coach. Yeah Lewis was under Cowher. Heck Dick LeBeau wanted to be back in Pittsburgh as to why he is the D Coordinator again. Yeah part of it is the city, but I'm sure at the end of the day Cowher is part of the choice.

Cowher, Gibbs, Parcells all good choices but I would also put Shanahan on that list based on his consistantly putting together winning teams. All you all know that is not an easy feat to do in the NFL.

Bill Cower, look whats he's done! Every year the STEELERS lose key players and he always keeps his team competitive! When were the Patriots a dynasty?? Hmmmmm winning 2 of 3 is a dynasty?? I would think 4 of 6 is much better.

It has to be Bill Bellicheck. This guy has three super bowl rings and did it every year as an underdog. He also never had a lot of superstars on his teams and seemed to lose players every year. He is a defensive genious and always puts a winner on the field. To build a dynasty in these days is almost immposible and he did it.

Cowher has been the most consistent for the past 10+ years. The other coaches have had up and down seasons, but Cowher has been consistent.
