Does the middle east get too much TV coverage? After all its just a bunch of savages (jews and arabs)?

Does anyone really car if these savages wipe each other out. What have the jews or the arabs ever done for the rest of the world. The jews just sponge tax dollars off america and the arabs have so much oil dollars they don't know what to do with them. Give them both short range nuclear bombs and leave them to it. The sooner they wipe each other out the sooner we get european news stories back on the sky news.

Unfortunately some people lack the knowledge to understand the economies of the entire world are sustained by oil... and most of it comes from that part of the world. It is in the best interest of this country and those of Europe to be involved. As for their contributions to civilization there are many. If you sit at the table to eat tonight and use more than your hands to bring the food to your mouth you are already using some of their contributions. In the British Isles they were still eating with their hands when these "savages" had forks and spoons. that is only an example.Their civilization was far more advanced than that of Europe.
The jews have kept the teachings of the Old testament which we, in the western world used to create our laws. Their army and use of inteligence in the region is far better than ours.
As for giving them both nuclear bombs, I am afraid you are misinformed there too. Some Islamic countries have them (India, Pakistan, Iran and others are way advanced in that regard) and if they were to use them we would have a collapse of our way of life as we know it. Israel, no doubt, has the means to get it as a deterrant, its survival depends on it.
The demise of these countries is certainly not based on lack of civilization but, in their religions and the fact that their governments are ruled by sectarian people. Religion taken to extremes can wreck havoc against civilization and that area of the world proves it. There is no room for tolerance or peace under those conditions. I hope your way of thinking, as closed minded as theirs, does not prevail.

actually the israelis already have nuclear weapons. maybe more than britain has. no one knows how much but its supposed to be in between 200 and 500 nuclear and thermonuclear warheads. along with a bunch of never gas an stuff. anyway i think if it came to that, the jews would win, and there wouldnt be many arabs left. then we would be stuck with a bunch of cocky israeli jews who would probably start ww3 and take over the world.

i agree with you that a good part of the American (and I suppose British) consciousness is focused on Mid East violence. It makes it appear that we live in a vacuum and that nothing else ever happens in the rest of the world.
