What is greatness? If that is specified the answers will be evident. Ash has been recognised the world over as an Indian and this has helped project our image abroad. Cannes, Paris, USA etc are places where she is seen advertsing for top companies. The Global Diversity award and Time magazine covere have again brought attention to India through Aishwarya Rai.Rai has done lot of charity through her NGO Aishwarya rai foundation. Tsunami, polio, eye donation donation to children hospitals, likely visits to Pakistan for anti polio campaigns are part of her work on the social front.Beauty by itself does not make you great, it may get you attention, but Ash has used her beauty to focus on India and do social work on the side. that is definitely greatness.

she knows how to play her cards, and be insync. with the media. she can dance well, looks good in both western and ethnic out fits, average acting talents, and importantly, lucky. most of the directors and producers want to work with her, from subhash ghai, to mani ratnam.she managed to be on the panel of juries for cannes, her wax statue is there with amitabh, in madame toussand's museum, she may also act in hollywod movies, etc. she had a devastating affair with salman khan, he beating her and all that. then she was supposed to be close to vivek oberai, broke with him, poor fellow. now she has hooked abhishek bacchan, god knows what will happen to him! she is a very selfish person, as far as her profession is cocerned, materialistic, and devoid of emotions, her only interest is to get famous, and remain at the top, at the cost of others. its' amazing, how one can achieve so much, with so many flops to her credit, acting nothing to rave about, just because she was miss world or universe, whatever, she got into the industry. recently in one of her commercial for a lipstick, she is shown aplplying it to her lips, which look so ordinery and rough, shapeless, that she should be really ashamed to be the model for that! actually, sushmita sen, who was also an international title winner, is much more sensuos, has classic features, great body, but failed to make an impact, or get good roles. madhuri dixit was also a lot better than aishwarya, but did not get all this adulation? there must be some star- power, nothing else. she is no match to yester years beauties, who were breathtakingly beautiful naturally, sans makeup!

She was. Now that she's over 30 she's just mildly great. She hit her prime at about 25.

Have u seen her without the make up, she looks awful.
